Healthy eating at work

Healthy eating at work is important to improve overall health of employees, as studies show a strong relationship between the physical and social environments of the workplace and the health behaviours of staff.

Nearly half of our waking hours are spent at work, and many of those hours are spent in meetings and conferences. By adopting healthy meeting guidelines, your organisation can help to create an environment that supports employees’ and members’ efforts to eat well and be physically active. Below is the Healthy Meeting Toolkit, developed by members of the National Alliance for Nutrition and Activity (NANA)

NANA is a coalition of over 450 national, state, and local organisations advocating for policies and programs to promote healthy eating and physical activity, with the aim of reducing the illnesses, disabilities, premature deaths, and costs caused by diet- and inactivity-related diseases, such as heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity.
